PORTFOLIO

These images will let you know what I’ve been up to since 1992, when I made my first “all-shibori” quilt.

Largely I have been working with arashi shibori since then, combined for a period of time with clamp resist.  The images are loosely in chronological order.

I intend to post some “archival” images that reflect the progression since 1976, the year I made my first quilt while in graduate school.   I may also feel compelled to sneak in some nature photos and photos of my family.  But for now, these will do.  Stay tuned!

Martha Sielman asked me a terrific concluding question in an email “interview”:

Q:  What would you like viewers to remember about your works?

A:  I would like the viewer to find beauty in my work, and to understand the great pleasure I derive from the act of making each quilt.

That pretty much sums it up for me, and my offering of these photos.
