Welcome

Greetings to anyone who has found this website.

After years of dragging my feet, my well-intentioned husband has quite easily tripped me by presenting me with a fledgling website.  He and the clever person at the Apple store have become a regular item.  I simply must have a hand in this before he sends it into the ether.

The primary reason for agreeing to become a web presence is for those of you who would like to take a class with me.  For this I am most grateful.  Teaching folks how to do my variation of shibori gives me great satisfaction.  I don’t teach that often these days, and I realize - for you have told me repeatedly - that it is hard to find out where I am teaching.

Parenthetically I must explain that I have NOT been playing hard-to-get.  I simply have a love-hate relationship with all things digital.  Actually, the love-hate relationship is with change, or with anything new.  I resent the primacy of computers in our lives (read: my life), just as I hate hate hate the presence of cell phones, text messaging, iPods, Facebook and all electronic entertainment in the lives of our kids - mine specifically, of course.  However, since I have never been reliable with regard to answering snail mail, I will post my meager but very choice teaching schedule online.

So... enough said.  While I am at it, I’ll post some photos of what I’ve been doing lately, as well as a few quilts from my film archives.  This means that I will have to figure out yet ANOTHER piece of technology in order to get my old slides into digital form...  Don’t hold your breath.

Thanks for your interest.

You would think that, as many times as I have unwrapped a pole after dyeing, I would become ho-hum about the results.  But it never fails:

I can’t WAIT to see how each piece turns out.  Guess that’s because I’ve realized I have only a certain amount of control and the rest is kismet.
